UK govt: Stop funding Drax’s forest destruction
Since 2012, Drax - the UK’s biggest ‘green’ energy company - has been given £7 billion in public money for supposedly fighting climate change.
But their green credentials are a scam. Drax is the UK’s biggest polluter, burning the equivalent of 27 million trees a year. They’re destroying precious forests, harming communities, wildlife, and the climate.
Now, the UK government is deciding whether to renew Drax’s subsidies worth nearly £2 million a day. Burning trees at this scale for electricity is not sustainable. Together we have a chance to stop these nonsensical and destructive subsidies.
Sign the petition now to demand an end to this madness. Every signature makes a difference - let’s protect our forests and our planet.
