UK govt: No new coal
The government is reported to be “on the cusp” of greenlighting the UK’s first deep coal mine in 30 years – a project that would increase global emissions and undermine the UK’s chances of meeting its climate targets.
This is reckless behaviour.
This is a critical time to ramp up the pressure on Local Government Secretary Michael Gove to act now to stop plans for a new coal mine in Cumbria and end the era of coal in the UK.
