Our oceans are in crisis. Industrial fishing, oil drilling, warming temperatures and plastic pollution threaten one of the most important ecosystems on earth.

2030 is rapidly approaching, the date by which scientists say we need to have protected at least 30% of our oceans at home and globally. We must safeguard the oceans from extractive industries now.

Right now only 3% of our oceans are properly protected. To protect at least 30% by 2030, governments can use the new Global Ocean Treaty to create huge protected sanctuaries. Over 70 countries have signed the Treaty into law, but the UK government is falling far behind.
